The Curvex® range provides a unique combination of security, reliability, flexibility and comfort that is designed to mould to the body’s contours.
This often reduces the risk of discomfort and skin trauma sometimes associated with rigid, conventional convexity products.
- The Curvex® plateau has been uniquely designed to be soft and mouldable. It provides a gentle, flexible solution for peristomal irregularities, slightly recessed stomas and parastomal hernias
- The 3D flange not only decreases the costly need for pastes and washers but also reduces the need to use uncomfortable or tight girdles and belts
- A leak-free fit is achieved by conforming gently around or into skin folds, scar tissue, moats or recesses without the need for paste, washers, pressure or a belt
- Unique and innovative integral outlet system. The easy grip tab aids opening and a simple folding closure makes it quick and easy to close, even for those with dexterity problems. The hook and loop fastening helps tuck the closure mechanism away securely and discreetly
Curvex® is ideal for:
- Ostomates who experience slight leakage from flat flanges
- Uneven skin dips, moats or scar tissue surrounding the stoma or a stoma positioned in a crease or skin fold
- Parastomal hernias
- Peristomal recesses due to weight gain or loss, or reduction in abdominal swelling post operatively
- Recessed stomas requiring only light pressure to protrude or which do not need the pressure exerted by conventional convexity products
- A recess only on one side of the stoma
- Ostomates who have poor dexterity and find it difficult to use washers or pastes
Curvex® should not be recommended for the following people:
- Ostomates with deeply recessed stomas requiring substantial pressure to protrude the stoma to ensure a leak-free fit of an appliance
- Ostomates with severe management problems due to deed and uneven scars
